Kiryandongo District local government has mourned the victims of the accident which occurred on Friday 25^th May at Nanda in Kiryandongo District.

The accident which involved a commercial bus Gaaga, a tractor and a long trailer claimed over 20 lives and injured scores.

The council observed a two minute moment of silence in honour of the people who lost their lives in the tragic accident.

In his remarks during the District council meeting, Frederick Kyosimire the Speaker of council thanked the police and UPDF for the efforts to rescue the survivors.

However, the speaker called upon police to enforce traffic regulations so as to avoid road accidents. Bus owners were also asked to always monitor and ensure that the bus drivers adhere to traffic rules and regulations as well as observe road discipline.
