Kiryandongo District staff have bid farewell to the retired DHO Dr. Mutyaba Imaam who attained mandatory retirement age on November 30,2023. Dr. Mutyaba has been the DHO of Kiryandongo since its inception in July 2010. He joined service in 1990 as a dental surgeon in Masindi and in 2006 he was promoted to a medical superintendent of Masindi General hospital. Dr. Mutyaba later joined Kiryandongo District on cross transfer in 2010 as a DHO- the position he has held until his retirement.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has commenced the exploration of Petroleum along the Kyoga basin in Kiryandongo District. This development was revealed by during the stakeholder sensitization meeting held on Wednesday January 17, 2024 at Kiryandongo District headquarters.

Kiryandongo District together with Ministry of Water and Environment have handed over sites for the construction of solar piped water systems and sanitation facilities in Mutunda,Gaspa and Nyakabaale rural growth centres. The sites were handed over to Summit Projects Limited a company which was contracted at a sum of 13.7 billion shillings.

Kiryandongo District has received 11 motorcycles from Ministry of Health with support from United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

The motorcycles received were handed over to the health facility in charges to aid their movement while offering services and outreaches to both the refugees and the host community.

Kiryandongo District authorities have launched the disbursement of funds worth 70 million shillings to 16 beneficiary groups under the Special grant for persons with disabilities and special enterprise grant for older persons.

Kiryandongo District has approved a Shillings 1.9 billion Tourism Development Plan which will run for five years. The plan was approved by the District council which sat on June 30,2023.

Valley through Asili farms have donated personal protective equipment for health workers in Kiryandongo district. The assortment of PPEs donated include 200 N95 masks,1350 disposable surgical masks and 88 disposable gowns. These PPEs will help to protect the frontline health workers while combating the Ebola Virus disease and other epidemics.

Kiryandongo district authorities have launched the construction of 2.5 billion Development Response to Displacement Impact project-DRDIP across the district.

The projects launched are the construction of a staff house at Panyadoli Hills health center III, two blocks of 3 class rooms at Opok primary school, general ward at Panyadoli health center IV and full rehabilitation of 3.9 KMs Congodoki-Kiryandongo High school road.
