Kiryandongo district local government has received a consignment of 470 vials amounting to 4700 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

The consignment was received on March 09,2021 by the District COVID-19 taskforce represented by the resident District Commissioner and other health team members.

Authorities in Kiryandongo district have monitored the 1.097 billion 22 KM Kigumba-Apodorwa-Katamarwa road which is being constructed under Development Response to Displacement Impact Project. The monitoring was aimed at identifying areas for improvement as well as generating feedback from the communities along the road. The road whose construction was launched on September 01,2020 is expected to be commissioned in March 2021 upon completion by the contractor.

The construction of the 2.3 billion Kitwara seed school in Kiryandongo district has taken shape.

According to the supervising engineer Samuel Muhumuza who is also the acting district engineer Kiryandongo, the construction works of Kitwara seed school are at 70% and the contractor is expected to complete the works by December 12,2020.

The Works,Natural resources and Production committee has monitored and commended the road works of financial year 2019/2020. The monitoring which took place on Thursday March 5, 2020 followed allegations raised by the community to the sectoral committee chairperson Fred Zziwa that the work done on some roads was shody.

Kiryandongo district local government has disseminated the sanitation baseline data collected during the financial year 2019/2020. The dissemination took place on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at the Community Technology Access resource centre in Kiryandongo towncouncil.

Authorities in Kiryandongo district have handed over the three tractors with their associated implements received from National Agricultural Advisory Services to the three beneficiaries. The three beneficiaries are Nyamahasa Area Cooperative,Equator Seed Limited and David Onya a nucleus farmer receiving tractors registration numbers UBE 720 Q,UBF 607 M and UBF 073 P respectively.

Karuma auction market has been relaunched along the Karuma-Okwece road. The relaunching of the auction market took place on Monday January 06, 2020 at Karuma Catholic church following the community appeal to relocate it from Sino hydro market back to its initial venue.

Authorities in Kiryandongo district have launched multi-million labour intensive public works and improved household investment support projects in four watersheds of Kigumba and Masindi port sub counties under the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund III.

The resident district commissioner Kiryandongo has called upon leaders in the district to sensitize the people about value addition so as they desist from selling their produce at low prices which has made it difficult to eradicate poverty among the farmers. Peter Debele the RDC said this while presiding over the 57th independence celebrations at Kibanda Secondary school in Kiryandongo district.

The chairman LCV Kiryandongo Charles Ntairehoki Amooti has called upon the people of Kamusenene village in Kiryandongo Sub County to own the projects established in their community by government. This was during the commissioning of a 33 million shillings deep borehole at Kamusenene on Wednesday September 4, 2019.
Ntairehoki also asked the community through the water source committee to contribute some money for maintenance of the borehole.
